 Fine Arts Department

The Heritage Fine Arts Department has been changing students' lives since 1972.  Offering a full compliment of arts courses ranging from introductory to advanced in music, theater arts, and visual arts, Heritage Fine Arts serves to teach arts appreciation through the development and creation of high-level art, drama, and music.  Creativity, human expression, teamwork development, and achievement are all important components of the fine arts curriculum.

Heritage High School is part of the Littleton Public Schools, which has been named one of the nation's "Best Communities for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation for 2008.  For more information on the NAMM Foundation and the 109 other school districts that have received this honor, click here.

Congratulations to the Heritage Eagles Marching Band on their second finals appearance at the state marching band championships in four years.  The Heritage Eagles fininshed in 8th place in the class 4A semifinals earning a trip to INVESCO Field at Mile High for the finals Saturday night,October 25.  See the marching band page for more info (accessed from Mr. Keena's page)

The HHS fall play, ZAP, by Paul Fleischman, is coming soon.  Production dates are November 6, 7, and 8 at 7:00PM in the Heritage High School Theater.  Click on the Theater Arts page to purchase tickets and for additional information.  This play is a must see.  You have never seen a play like it!

Congratulations to the Heritage Eagles Marching Band on placing third at the Colorado Bandmasters Association Metro Qualifying Contest on October 13.  The band has qualified for the 2008 state marching band championships!  See Mr. Keena's page for more information!  Way to go!

Congratulations to the 2008 Heritage Eagles Marching Band members for their 5A First Place finish at the Colorado State Fair Parade in Pueblo on Saturday August 23.  In addition to the 5A title, the band was also awarded Third Place in the Sweepstakes overall contest.  The band also performed at the Pepsi Band Shell on the Stet Fairgrounds that same afternoon and blew away the crowd with a powerful arrangement of Carmen from their upcoming field show.

Congratulations to Mr. Stanford Paris, newly retired from HHS and recipient of the Alliance for Colorado Theater 2008 Educator of the Year!  We are so proud of you!

Congratulations to the members of the Heritage Eagles Marching Band for their participation in the 2008 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Denver.  The combined Heritage/Littleton Community Marching Band won the award for Best Marching Band in the parade!  Kevin Keena and Don Emmons directed the group.  Way to go!

The 2008 CHSAA District V Large Ensemble Festival welcomed 23 groups from 14 metro area schools to Heritage on April 15.  The Heritage Wind Ensemble earned straight "I - Superior" ratings for its performance and sight-reading ability.  The Symphonic Winds earned straight "II - Excellent" ratings including sight-reading and the Concert Winds also earned an "II - Excellent" rating!  Congratulations to all the band members for representing us so well and for sharing such wonderful music!  Great job!

Congratulations to the Heritage Theater Program for its nomination to represent he United States and perform at the 2009 American High School Theater Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland!  Way to go!  Drama teacher Mr. Stanford Paris has been nominated to attend this prestigious event four times!

Congratulations to the Heritage Womens' Jazz Choir under the directions of Mrs. Sheresa Wilbanks for being one of only five high school choral ensembles invited to perform at the 2008 Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conference January 24 in Colorado Springs!  We are very proud of you!!
