 AP Physics BMinimize

AP Physics B is designed to be the equivalent of the general physics course usually taken during the first year of college. Advanced Placement Physics (B) includes topics in both classical and modern physics. This course provides a foundation in physics for students in the life sciences, pre-medicine and some applied sciences. This course is not calculus based. Students planning a career in engineering or the physical sciences should consider taking AP Physics (C).

Recommendation:

We recommend that anyone who will be taking (or has taken) AP Calculus, should sign up for AP Physics C.
Anyone who is in regular Calculus would be fine in either course.
Anyone who is interested in AP Physics but will be in Trigonometry should take AP Physics B.
