HHS ALL-SCHOOL BOOK READ
(IN CONJUNCTION WITH MAD WEEK, 2008)
Ishmael Beah's A Long Way Gone
We invited all students, parents, staff and community members to join the club.

Mr. Thomas Fahn, Campus Supervisor, spoke to students at the Late Start Day Breakfast for students on Nov. 5, 2007.
Because this story details Ishmael’s experiences as a boy soldier, portions of the book are difficult and emotionally challenging. However, we feel that this book, most powerfully delivers a message of hope and redemption. Ishmael is a powerful role model for all of us. We intend for this to be a community event and invite parents to read the book along with their students. Please be aware that this is strictly optional. No student is required to read this book or need feel pressured to take part in any of the related events.
